Ejaculation shouldn’t hurt. Some people are able to ejaculate (cum) more often than others. Generally, the younger you are, the more you’re able to ejaculate.
After you ejaculate, there’s a period of time when your penis can’t get erect (hard) or ejaculate again. This is called the refractory period . In young people, the refractory period may only last a few minutes. But in older people, the refractory period usually lasts longer, sometimes for several hours or more.
While ejaculation itself won’t hurt you, the skin on your penis could get irritated if you have sex or masturbate a lot in one day. So be sure to use enough lubrication so you don’t rub the skin on your penis raw — that could hurt!
Here’s what ejaculation is about: When you get turned on by sexual thoughts, wet dreams , masturbation, or sexual activity with another person, your penis fills with blood and gets hard (erect). If you get very turned on, a sticky liquid called semen spurts out. This is called ejaculation or “cumming.”
